Cooper had a couple of doctor appointments this week. He went to see his pediatrician and the ophthamologist on Monday afternoon. We, of course, got both good news and bad.
The good news is that Cooper can see. They did an actual vision test on him, which is way too complicated to explain here, and found that his vision is within normal range for his age. He passed even though he was half asleep and took a really long nap as soon as they finished the test. He also uses both eyes to look at things, which is good because it means his brain hasn't picked one eye to use. If that had happened, it's much harder to fix.
There were two pieces of bad news. The first is that Cooper did not gain enough weight over the past couple of months. So we are readjusting his meals because of that. He'll go in next month to get weighed, so until then I'm just trying to get him to eat as much as possible. The second is that Cooper has to get glasses. The glasses will hopefully make it easier to focus on things that are far away, so his eyes will stop crossing as much. If these don't work, he may have to have surgery. Not fun. I'll of course post pictures of Cooper in his baby glasses as soon as they come in.
